Liquidnet head of execution departs for Bank of America

London-based hire will cover futures and options sales at the bank and also spent 15 years at UBS earlier in his career.

Darren Smith has left his role as head of execution and quantitative services for Liquidnet’s European listed derivatives business to join Bank of America.

London-based Smith joins the firm in a role covering futures and options sales, and brings almost two decades of industry experience to the position.

He spent more than four years at Liquidnet, where he focused on agency execution services asset management in his leadership role.

Prior to this, Smith held a 15-year tenure at UBS, where he initially joined in a delta one trading role, before later moving up the ranks to work across fixed income futures and options strategy, and ETD fixed income sales.
