Cameron quits Orc to launch consultancy

John Cameron, architect of the CameronFIX Engine acquired by Orc Software in 2006, has left his role as the firm’s chief technology officer to establish an IT consultancy, Cameron Edge, which will specialise in services relating to electronic trading systems and the FIX messaging protocol.

John Cameron, architect of the CameronFIX Engine acquired by Orc Software in 2006, has left his role as the firm’s chief technology officer to establish an IT consultancy, Cameron Edge, which will specialise in services relating to electronic trading systems and the FIX messaging protocol.

Cameron Edge will offer its services to buy-side, sell-side and exchange groups with internal or external system requirements for routing, market data, FIX FAST, etc. The firm will provide consultancy services including systems reviews, analysis and design of new systems, and FIX system review, performance tuning and training.

“Unprecedented market conditions have simultaneously presented financial firms with their greatest challenges and opportunities and Cameron Edge aims to assist firms gain ‘an edge’ over their competitors through superior IT,” said Cameron.

According to Orc, Cameron Edge will provide complementary services to Orc’s CameronFIX customers.
