Chi-Tech, the technology services unit of Chi-X Global, a global provider of market infrastructure technologies and trading venues, has hired Ulf Axman as head of European business development.

Prior to joining Chi-Tech, Axman held senior sales and business development roles in Europe and Asia at technology firms NYSE Technologies, OMX Technology and Computershare.

“Market centres throughout Europe and the Middle East are today looking to build out their trading infrastructures in order to accommodate the global trading community’s vastly increased demand,” said Axman in a statement.

“Ulf brings a great deal of experience in selling large-scale trading technologies and is well-known and respected by many exchange operators,” added Hubert Holmes, executive vice president at Chi-Tech.??

Chi-Tech was formed in November 2008, following Chi-X Global’s acquisition of Cicada, a financial software firm. The purchase was made to facilitate Chi-X Global’s expansion into serving the technology needs of exchanges, multilateral trading facilities and other global trading venues. Chi-X Global is a subsidiary of global agency brokerage Instinet.
