Global investment bank Citi has appointed an ex-Goldman Sachs trader to its central and eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEEMEA) trading team.

Payam Akhavan-Malayeri, who was previously a senior emerging markets trader at Merrill Lynch as well as Goldman Sachs, will join Citi’s CEEMEA trading desk in June, according to an internal memo seen by theTRADEnews.com.

Akhavan-Malayeri will report to Yonatan Gozdanker, head of trading and execution, CEEMEA equities, Citi.
