German broker Deutsche Bank's electronic trading unit Autobahn Equity has announced a new high-speed connection to Xetra, the trading platform operated by Deutsche Börse.

Autobahn Equity clients now have the ability to connect to Xetra via Deutsche Bank's Ultra interface, a low latency solution providing direct connectivity to exchanges, at a latency of 23 microseconds. The Ultra connection is already available for accessing the London Stock Exchange and NYSE Euronext markets.

According to Deutsche Bank, the new connection will benefit clients by affording them faster access to markets, made possible by pre-trade risk checks that are completed with minimum latency.

“Our approach to the rapidly changing electronic trading environment is simple,” said Andrew Morgan, head of Autobahn Equity, Europe, Deutsche Bank. “We believe that real-time risk management and full compliance with local regulations is not something that should require a sacrifice in performance. For this reason we developed Ultra.”
