Deutsche Börse has extended its range of low-latency market data products with the launch of AlphaFlash Monitor, a tool designed to give market participants instant access to macroeconomic data.

AlphaFlash Monitor is a web-based application that delivers key economic indicators to subscribers’ trading desks to aid investment decisions. The data comprises more than 150 economic indicators – such as central bank interest rate decisions, employment figures and gross domestic product figures – for the US, Canada and Europe which the exchange claims are delivered at millisecond speeds. Asian economic data will be added in due course.

The tool is based on the same technology as AlphaFlash, the exchange group’s machine readable news feed for algorithmic trading that was launched April 2010.

The AlphaFlash product range is the first joint offering from the exchange’s market data and analytics segment and US financial news agencies Need To Know News and Market News International, which both became entities of the Deutsche Börse Group in 2009.
