Caerus Trading, an Amsterdam-based market making firm specialising in listed equity and index options trading, has chosen an Orc Trading solution to support its market making operations. Caerus aims to become a leading trading firm on several European exchanges, initially NYSE Liffe, Amsterdam and Paris with significant expansion into additional markets planned in the future.

“Flexibility is the key requirement on our trading software tools. Orc’s highly flexible algorithmic trading engine makes us very competitive in terms of latency when trading on opportunities or hedging options trades,” said Bas Walraven, partner, Caerus Trading.

“We are pleased to have Caerus, with their rich experience of the Amsterdam derivatives market, as a client. Caerus’ choice testifies to the strength of Orc’s market making offering,” said Christopher Lederer, vice president of European and Continental sales, Orc Software, a provider of technology of trading and connectivity tools.

Caerus will use Orc’s trading risk management functionality to offer comprehensive market making solutions. The ability to add Caerus’ own volatility model to the Orc Trading solution will help Caerus to fully exploit its research findings.
