Foreign exchange ECN KCG Hotspot is now publishing daily spot FX volumes to the public via its website.

KCG Hotspot, an electronic communications network (ECN) for the institutional FX spot market, is owned by KCG Holdings, formed from the merger of US market making firms Getco and Knight Capital.

John Miesner, managing director and head of global sales at KCG Hotspot, said the move to publish daily spot FX volumes had been driven by client demand.

Miesner added, “It also reflects KCG Hotspot's commitment to being clear and open.

“We support other such efforts that progress the FX marketplace's move toward the forms of transparency shown in other asset classes, such as standardised reporting and the release of more current data by all platforms."

Releases include daily volumes for the previous rolling 30-day period.

Hotspot will continue to publish monthly and quarterly volume statistics, as it has done since 2010.

Hotspot volume statistics can be found at http://hotspotfx.com/products/hotspot_volumes.jsp
