Warsaw-based Erste Securities Polska has selected trading technology provider SunGard's Valdi order management and trading tools to help it manage complex order flow and create customised algorithms.

Valdi will supply Erste Securities with a connection to the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) that will help it manage rising order volumes and manage client connections.

“We have chosen to strengthen our cooperation with SunGard in order to meet the trading platform changes planned by the Warsaw Stock Exchange,” said Piotr Prażmo, member of the management board, Erste Securities Polska. “SunGard's Valdi solutions will be easily integrated with our existing infrastructure, thus helping us provide our clients with faster time-to-market and advanced services cost-effectively.”

In July 2010, the WSE announced a partnership with NYSE Technologies, the commercial technology subsidiary of exchange group NYSE Euronext. Under the deal, the WSE be accessible from the Universal Trading Platform, a single point of connectivity for all NYSE Euronext markets.

Erste Securities Polska will also use Valdi's basket trading functionality and pre-programmed synthetic orders, and will have the capabilities to build bespoke algorithmic trading strategies.

“SunGard's Valdi solutions can help Erste Securities Polska achieve rapid connections to new clients and add new trading capabilities like algorithms in a straightforward way, enhancing its ability to respond quickly to new and emerging requirements from its clients,” said Raj Mahajan, president of SunGard’s global trading business.

Erste Securities Polska is part of Erste Group, the Austria-based financial services group.
