ISE to focus on ETF issuance

The International Securities Exchange (ISE) has overhauled its product development group to reflect a growing focus on exchange-traded fund trading.

The US market operator’s ISE ETF Ventures initiative signals a move by the US market operator to move beyond index development and support firms that want to launch new exchange-traded products and ETFs. It will include capital commitment, business development and marketing support, in addition to existing index services.

ISE ETF Ventures will seek to partner with issuers with the aim of launching new investment products, while also offering financial support for new products. The exchange currently offers 30 proprietary indices, with 19 exchange-traded products based on them.

“With ISE’s notable expansion in the ETF business, the ISE ETF Ventures brand represents the team’s evolution from a sole focus on index development to a much broader suite of capabilities and partnership opportunities in the ETF space,” said Gary Katz, president and CEO at ISE. “This group will further tap into the thriving exchange traded products market while contributing to the innovative values and continuous advancement of the company brand.”
