Global agency broker and technology provider ITG has shuffled its executive team, with David Stevens moving from Europe to lead the firm’s Asia-Pacific operations.

Stevens, who was previously CEO of ITG in Europe, will now manage the company’s Asia-Pacific business from its Hong Kong office.

Former Asian head Leon Christianakis left ITG’s Asian business in May, barely a year after joining the firm, to take up a role at Australian investment baking group Macquarie. In the interim, Alasdair Thomson, chief operating officer for ITG in Asia, took the position of CEO in Asia.

“We are pleased to have David on the ground in Hong Kong to lead our Asia-Pacific business at a time of both significant challenges and opportunities in the region,” said Bob Gasser, CEO and president of ITG. “David has been instrumental in the growth of our European business and I have every confidence that under his leadership the Asia-Pacific business will grow market share and move towards profitability.”

Stevens’ role in Europe will now be assumed by Rob Boardman, previously head of electronic trading for ITG in the region.

“Rob has been an integral part of the European management team over the past four years and is well regarded across the European region as an authority on electronic trading,” added Gasser. “We look forward to continued growth in Europe under Rob’s leadership.”
