ABN AMRO Mellon Global Securities Services says it has appointed John Matthews as Securities Lending Client Service Manager.

Matthews joins the bank from BGI, where he was Product Manager, Fixed Income Lending, and will report to Mark Tidy, Securities Lending Product Manager.

ABN Amro Mellon says Matthews will act as a conduit between ABN AMRO Mellon’s securities lending business and clients across all asset classes.

“As the business evolves, we must be prepared to engage in a consultative dialogue with our clients who require a high level of technical support and advice on the optimum route to market for their assets,” says Rob Coxon, Head of International Securities Lending at ABN AMRO Mellon. “John is the ideal candidate to fill that crucial client service role. He possesses both the intellectual talents and the trading expertise we were looking for, and combines a broad knowledge of financial markets with a solid securities lending track record.”

Matthews says he is pleased to join ABN AMRO Mellon. “This business has made great strides forward over the past year under Rob’s leadership, and I am looking forward to further building on that success,” he says. “ABN AMRO Mellon combines a powerful trading capability combined with a flexible and creative service model. My role will be to deliver the benefits of that model to our customers and ensure we have always deployed the best strategy to maximize revenues on their behalf.”
