Algorithms from Knight Direct, the direct market access arm of US-based sell-side firm Knight Capital, will soon be available via the Orc ExNet broker connectivity network.

Members of the network, operated by trading technology and services provider Orc Software, will also be able to tap Knight Direct's global market access capabilities.

Under the agreement, users of Orc's trading solutions can trade futures, options, and cash equity instruments via Knight Direct on the global equity markets supported by Knight.

Orc ExNet provides market participants with non-membership access to exchanges and trading venues globally. Knight also connects to around a dozen connectivity networks including those operated by Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, Fidessa and Sungard.

Bradley Duke, managing director at Knight Capital Europe, said, “Orc ExNet has a strong reputation for high performance and we look forward to providing clients on the network with Knight Direct's full range of intelligent and dynamic algorithms as well as access to Knight's unique liquidity.”

“The addition of Knight Direct to Orc ExNet provides our customers with attractive new trading options for several markets, including excellent coverage of the US and emerging global markets,” said Jon Freebody, vice president, sales, UK and France, Orc Software.
