Markit has filed a registration statement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission as the company intends to have an initial public offering on the US secondary market.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Barclays, Citigroup, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank Securities, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, J.P. Morgan, Morgan Stanley, UBS, BNP Paribas, Jefferies, RBC Capital Markets and TD Securities would be joint bookrunners for the proposed IPO.

Markit declined to comment further on the filing.
