US-based exchange group Nasdaq OMX has appointed Michel Finzi as senior vice president and head of US equities for its transaction services division.

Finzi will join Nasdaq OMX this summer and will hold responsibility for the strategic direction, sales efforts and market operations of the group's equity exchanges – Nasdaq Stock Market, Nasdaq OMX BX and Nasdaq OMX PSX – and options exchanges Nasdaq OMX PHLX and the Nasdaq Options Market. He will also operate and manage the firm's Access Services data centre ports and membership, co-location offerings and the FINRA/Nasdaq Trade Reporting Facility.

Finzi will report to Eric Noll, executive vice president of Nasdaq OMX transaction services division in the US and UK.

Finzi's last role was at trading technology provider ConvergEx RealTick, where he was managing director and global head of business development. He has also worked at agency brokerage Instinet.

“Michel has more than 23 years of experience in global brokerage, trading technologies and electronic trading which will be instrumental as he leads our US equity efforts,” said Noll. “We intend to leverage Michel’s background in multi-asset class trading platforms, sales and client management experience and electronic communication networks to continue to make Nasdaq OMX the premier liquidity venue servicing all market participants and investors.”
