Optiver enhances US institutional ETF trading desk with two new hires

The two additions span a new head of US institutional ETF sales trading and a US ETF sales trader, and are set to support Optiver’s expansion across the ecosystem.

Optiver has strengthened its US institutional ETF trading offering with two new additions, as demand grows across the market.

Brett Sussman, Caitlin Krantz

Specifically, the firm has appointed Brett Sussman and Caitlin Krantz to its US-based team, joining as head of US institutional ETF sales trading and as a US ETF sales trader, respectively.

Both Sussman and Krantz’s additions are set to support counterparties looking to connect to Optiver’s global liquidity, market knowledge and execution capabilities across the ETF landscape.

New York-based Sussman joins the firm after almost nine years at Flow Traders, where he initially began as an institutional trader, before stepping up as head of institutional sales and trading, Americas, seven years later.

Prior to this, he held various roles at Citi, working across equity derivatives, leverage credit and rates trading.

Meanwhile, Krantz joins Optiver after almost three years at multi-asset market maker, where she served as a sales trader spanning ETFs and ADRs.

She also gained early career experience at JP Morgan.

Optiver’s US ETF desk marks a recent expansion for the firm, and was initially set up in 2025.

The desk, which is led by Berk Kircal, who works across global cash, US ETFs, aims to deliver liquidity across domestic, international and options-based ETFs.
