Orange Business Services – Trading Solutions, a voice and electronic trading infrastructure provider, has launched an end-to-end global convergent technology platform designed to give financial institutions an integrated voice and data communications solution for their trading operations.
The modular solution suite supports brokers, fund managers, market data providers and trading venues from the network level to desktops, giving them the ability to work with one single provider for live trading communications requirements.
The integration of the voice and IT environment allows traders to converge live communications on their desktops, giving them a consolidated view of trading counterparts on screen and the flexibility to share information across all parts of the organisation, which according to Orange will reduce technical investment.
BT Global Banking and Financial Markets, a unit of UK-based telephony firm BT, already offers BT iTrader, an open standards collaboration platform that links BT’s voice trading turrets and standard phones over its BT Radianz shared market infrastructure. Like Orange’s product, BT iTrader can also consolidate voice and data communications through one device, and includes an integrated instant messaging client, allowing sales traders and their clients to switch between messaging and voice communications as appropriate.
“Some providers just integrate the network layer, which only allows voice and data to be delivered over one network,” Arsène Ahouansou, connectivity product manager, Orange Business Services – Trading Solutions, told theTRADEnews.com. “We go one step further and integrate the application layer, therefore offering the ability to have unified modules – e.g. turret, email applications, instant messaging programmes – delivered through just one of the trader’s devices.”
Users will also be able to take advantage of Orange Business Services – Trading Solutions’ connectivity, services and applications including recording systems and instant messaging between buyers and sellers.
