Russian financial services group Otkritie Bank has strengthened its institutional equities team with three new hires.

Michael Stein joins the bank as director of sales for institutional clients, having held a similar position at Deutsche UFG between 1997 and 2006. Most recently Stein was a partner and portfolio manager at Kiev-based equity investment firm Carpathian Capital.

Otkritie Bank has also hired Marco Casas as vice president of sales for international institutional clients. Casas joins from Russian brokerage Renaissance Capital, where he held a similar position based in New York.

Yoni Gluhovsky, who has worked at a number of investment banks including Troika Dialog, BNP Paribas and Goldman Sachs, also joins Otkritie Bank as a sales director for its derivatives department.

“We are in the process of building up a strong team of professionals which will help us join the top-three leading investment banks in Russia in the near future,” commented Igor Vayn, head of capital markets and corporate finance at Otkritie Bank.

The latest hires build on another trio of hires made by the bank's equity and derivatives unit in October last year.
