Otkritie Capital, the investment banking arm of Russian financial services firm Otkritie Financial, has appointed Sarah Salamoun has a sales trader.

Salamoun joined Otkritie’s equity sales trading team on 1 August after two-and-a-half years at Moscow-based broker URALSIB. During her time at URALSIB, Salamoun started in equity sales before moving on to head the DMA sales for the firm’s London office.

“I am very pleased to be working with an exceptional team at Otkritie, especially at a crucial time when structural market changes are happening in Moscow,” said Salamoun.

Russia’s RTS and MICEX exchanges merged in December last year, and are preparing to float via IPO in 2013. International buy- and sell-side firms hope to realise efficiencies from accessing a combined market using a common trading platform and collateral system.

Otkritie Capital offers institutional investors, corporate clients and private investors a full range of services on the global and Russian markets, including equity and debt securities, DMA trading, M&A advice and financing, as well as structured products and derivatives.
