People Moves Monday: BlackRock, Citadel Securities and Fasanara Capital

The past week saw a run of hires across trading desks, including a buy-side head of trading appointment.

BlackRock

Elias Hatchuel has joined BlackRock as an equity trader, following a nearly seven-year tenure at Berenberg.

He most recently served as an electronic equities’ trader at Berenberg joining the firm in October 2019, before later moving up to trading operations and trader-based roles.

Earlier in his career, Hatchuel also worked in AI and technology-focused positions.

Citadel Securities

Citadel Securities has appointed Zeyad Elnaqa as a client execution trader in Dublin.

His appointment is expected to support the firm’s build out of its trading franchise with a specific focus on US equities.

Elnaqa joins from UBS, where he spent two and a half years as an electronic sales trader, based in London.

The appointment extends a run of hires across Citadel Securities’ institutional equities and trading franchise in recent months, spanning New York, London, and now Dublin.

Fasanara Capital

Chris Drew has been appointed as Fasanara Capital’s new head of trading.

He most recently served as a director and board member at Jump Crypto.

Having worked at Jump Crypto for six years, Drew brings extensive quantitative trading knowledge to the role. Prior to joining Jump Crypto, Drew spent more than a decade across the sector, working as a trader at firms including Jump Trading, Sun Trading and JP Morgan.
