Narayanan Mahesh has joined Citi as the firm’s new head of equities electronic execution (Americas). 
Mahesh will be based in New York in his new role and brings almost two decades of sell-side experience to the position.
The appointment marks a return to Citi for Mahesh, who began his industry career at the firm as an analyst in 2007.
Following this, he spent more than 19 years at Jefferies, where he most recently held the position of senior vice president.
Barclays
Barclays has appointed Takeo Kamai and Warren Kim to its cash equities business in Tokyo.
Kamai takes on the role of head of high touch sales trading, Japan. Both himself and Kim will report to Joseph Lee, head of high touch sales trading, Asia Pacific.
The hires add an on– –the –ground high touch sales trading presence to Barclays’ existing Japan equities business, which includes a prime offering giving clients access to Japanese equity markets through the bank’s global platform.
Kamai joins from CLSA, where he most recently led the firm’s execution services business in Japan, overseeing high touch, program and electronic trading.
Similarly, Kim most recently headed up CLSA’s offshore sales trading business in Japan.
Stifel
Stifel has made two new additions to its global fixed income platform, appointing Conor Daly and Jim Franz as co-heads of leveraged finance sales in Europe.
Both will be based in London in their new roles, and bring extensive leveraged finance, high yield and distressed credit experience to the positions.
Daly joins the firm from Aurel Partners – part of BGC Group – where he spent three years as head of high yield and distressed sales and trading.
He has also held leveraged sales and products-related roles at Lloyds, Seaport Europe and Bank of Montreal.
Similarly, Franz joins Stifel after a 17-year tenure at Cantor Fitzgerald, where he headed up the firm’s European high yield and distressed business.
He also previously worked at Citi for almost ten years, where he focused on European high yield and distressed markets.
ING
Henry Xiong has joined ING as a vice president, emerging markets (EM) credit trader, based in London.
Xiong joins the Dutch bank after more than one year at BBVA, where he also worked as an EM credit trader.
Prior to this, Xiong served at BNP Paribas CIB for almost two years, initially joining as a graduate analyst in 2022, before later being promoted to CEEMEA credit trader in 2023.
He also gained early career experience at BNP Paribas, where he worked across FX options trading and structured capital markets structuring
