People Moves Monday: Nomura’s Laser Digital, Liquidnet and StoneX Group

The past week saw appointments across OTC trading, international client trading and outsourced trading.

Zakria Hussain has left Crédit Agricole, where he most recently served as global head of eFX spot trading, to join Nomura Group’s digital assets subsidiary Laser Digital as head of OTC trading. Hussain previously served as executive director, eFX algorithmic analyst at Crédit Agricole and prior to that spent three and a half years at Standard Chartered Bank, having served as a quant analyst before being promoted to director and eFX risk trader. He also has experience working across European futures indices – FESX, FDAX and FCE whilst working as a quantitative analyst at Allston Trading.

Liquidnet appointed Lara Jacobs as head of international client trading EMEA. Jacobs has spent the last five years at Liquidnet, most recently serving as an equity trader – a role she held for three and a half years. Prior to that, she worked as a market structure and strategy analyst for a year and a half. Elsewhere in her career, Jacobs served as a summer intern at Liquidnet in 2018, before eventually joining the firm in a full-time role in 2019. This followed an internship at M&G Investments in 2017.

StoneX Group appointed former head of trading at Incline Global Management, Evan Halpern, managing director of fixed income outsourced trading. Throughout his career, Halpern has held trading and portfolio management roles at a wide variety of firms. Most recently, he held portfolio management roles at Walleye Capital, Millennium and UBS O’Connor. Prior to that, Halpern served as head of trading at Incline Global Management for nearly two years and before that spent nearly a decade at King Street Capital as a trader. This followed a two-year stint at Bank of America Securities, where he also held a trading role.
