Ed Wicks has been promoted to head of global markets at Legal & General Asset Management, a newly created role for the firm.
Wicks’ promotion marks an extension of his ongoing eight-year long tenure at the asset manager, having initially joined in 2015 as head of equity trading.
He later stepped up as global head of trading in 2017, and also assumed responsibility of leading liquidity management alongside this role in 2025.
London-based Wicks has worked across capital markets for almost two decades, spanning roles at both sell- and buy-side firms.
RBC Brewin Dolphin
Robert Martin has been named head of UK dealing at RBC Brewin Dolphin, stepping up after almost seven years at the firm.
London-based Martin initially joined the buy-side firm in 2019 as a multi-asset dealer, before later working his way up the ranks to take on an associate director role in January 2025.
In 2024, Martin was shortlisted at The TRADE’s Leaders in Trading for the coveted Trader of the Year award, recognising exceptional trading efforts and performances on the buy-side.
Prior to his time at RBC Brewin Dolphin, Martin has worked in various equity trading-based roles, serving in a senior trader position at Valbury Capital for more than a year, where he assumed responsibility for all equity and fixed income trading conducted through the firm.
Previously in his career, he has also served at firms including Equiniti and Matrix Corporate Capital.
Jain Global
Joanne Lim has been named head of trading for APAC at Jain Global, almost two years after she initially joined the firm.
The move marks a promotion for Hong Kong-based Lim, who brings more than 15 years of industry experience to her new position, spanning both the buy- and sell-side.
She joined former Credit Suisse and Millennium veteran, Bobby Jain’s hedge fund in June 2024 as a senior trader, a month prior to the firm’s launch in July the same year.
Before this, she had spent more than two years at Balyasny Asset Management in various trading-based roles.
She has also worked across algorithmic, portfolio and sales trading at firms spanning AllianceBernstein, Societe Generale and CITC Securities.
Previously in her career, she also gained banking and trading experience based out of Singapore, and both ANZ and Maybank Kim Eng Securities.
DWS
DWS Group has promoted Jamie Hartley as global head of capital markets.
The move marks a continuation of Hartley’s ongoing seven year-tenure at the asset manager, after having initially joined as a senior ETF capital markets specialist in 2019.
During his time at the firm, Hartley has served in various roles spanning secondary markets, EMEA, and capital markets, leading various regions.
He brings more than 15 years of industry experience to his new role, and prior to DWS, spent nine years at Deutsche Bank.
During his time at the firm, Hartley served in positions working across convertible bond sales, global equity derivatives and ETF trading.
