RBC Global Asset Management has appointed Ivan Pelipenko as a senior trader, covering global fixed income and currencies.
Pelipenko will be based in Toronto and brings more than 20 years of experience across portfolio management and trading strategies to his role at the asset manager.
Previously, he spent more than 18 years at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, initially joining in 2007 as a principal in emerging markets fixed income and currencies.
He later moved up the ranks to director, global trading, total fund management, a role he held for eight years.

Pelipenko also served as a member of the Canadian Foreign Exchange Committee (CFEC) for more than a year, which facilitates the spread of information between market participants and the Bank of Canada on the FX market, as well as reviewing market practices and procedures.
RBC Global Asset Management had not responded to a request for comment at the time of publication.
