Ripple Prime has unveiled a new offering, enabling support for institutions to access real-world asset (RWA) perpetual swaps.

The expansion is set to provide continuous exposure to markets historically limited to fixed trading windows, as the gap between traditional and digital assets is increasingly bridged across financial markets.
Through this, Ripple Prime aims to provide clients with new opportunities to respond to market developments, manage positions and deploy capital across both traditional and digital asset markets.
“Institutions want exposure to equities, commodities, and currencies with the round-the-clock access and efficiencies of digital infrastructure,” said Michael Higgins, international chief executive of Ripple Prime.
“Ripple Prime was built to operate in both worlds, with deep experience clearing trades and managing digital collateral and risk across venues, 24/7. With RWA swaps, we are enabling clients to execute increasingly sophisticated trading strategies and actively manage their portfolios in response to today’s dynamic global markets.”

The offering also allows institutions to cross-margin RWA swap exposures against further asset classes supported by Ripple Prime.
Moreover, clients can leverage Ripple USD as collateral for RWA swap transactions, to benefit from a single counterparty relationship, centralised risk management and consolidated margin across portfolios.
“Virtu is ramping up across emerging liquidity pools, and Ripple Prime’s 24/7 cross-margining across asset classes helps us expand our presence more efficiently as markets move toward round-the-clock access,” said Scotte Moegling, head of business development for digital assets at Virtu.
Earlier this month, Ripple expanded its relationship with alternative investment manager Brevan Howard, in a move which will see Ripple Prime providing multi-asset prime brokerage, clearing and financing services to Brevan Howard funds.
Through the expanded agreement, Brevan Howard will be able to leverage prime services across asset classes and products on Ripple Prime’s single platform, which is in turn set to improve capital efficiency and simplify operations.
