Trading technology firm Linedata has hired industry veteran Robin Strong as head of business development and client strategy for EMEA.

Strong joins from Fidessa, where he was director of buy-side market strategy. He has held positions at Asset Control, Citadel Associates and Charles River Development and began his career at Salomon Brothers in London.

Strong is also a member of the FIX Protocol global steering committee and is chair of the membership services committee.

In another industry move, Jerry Waldron has joined US-based consultancy Woodbine Associates as director, risk and portfolio analytics. He will focus on investment performance, attribution and risk issues that impact asset managers and the sell-side.

Waldron has two decades’ experience in risk and investment management across fixed income, credit, interest rate derivatives, equities and equity derivatives. He has worked with Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi, Citibank and K2 Advisors and has a PhD in economics from Duke University.

“Jerry’s experience, demeanour and drive make him a natural fit for our business efforts,” said Woodbine founding principal Matt Samelson. “We look forward to him adding immediate value to our client-oriented activities.”
