New York based institutional broker Rosenblatt Securities has hired veteran buy-side analyst Akhil Bhatia as a vice president for its market structure analysis group.

Reporting to Justin Schack, head of Rosenblatt's market structure analysis group, Bhatia will help institutional analysts and portfolio managers better understand the global exchange industry and other market structure related companies.

Prior to joining Rosenblatt, Bhatia was a senior analyst for Surveyor Capital, an affiliate of financial services and high-frequency market making firm Citadel. A graduate of Virginia Tech, he has also been an analyst at hedge fund sponsor Diamondback Capital Management and Balyasny Asset Management.

“We’ve known, liked and respected Akhil for several years,” said Schack. “He is one of a handful of buy-side analysts that has focused intently on exchange companies, and he has extensive industry relationships.”

The appointment of Bhatia follows the hire in March of Brian Reynolds, formerly at broker-dealer WJB Capital Group, to be Rosenblatt's chief market strategist.
