Trading technology vendor Realtime Systems (RTS) has released a FIX 5.0 gateway designed to allow large sell-side clients to route and execute orders using the firm’s algorithmic trading solution, RTD Tango.

RTS said clients will be able to use their own order management systems, write their own algorithms and route orders via the new FIX 5.0 gateway into RTD Tango. The new gateway is targeted at banks, brokers and large institutions that can deploy the technology in multiple departments, such as proprietary and agency trading.

RTS added that the gateway permits algorithmic orders requiring greater functionality, such as volume-weighted average price, time-weighted average price, pair and basket orders, to be executed by RTD Tango on a ‘plug‘n’play’ basis.

“The interface, particularly for this latest version of FIX, is another example of how our open system approach provides for straightforward integration of our clients’ applications. RTS’ solutions continue to do the heavy lifting for our client base of top-tier firms, for whom high-performance, cost-effective solutions are a must,” said Alex Lamb, executive board member, RTS.
