SemLab, an organisation that develops applications for information discovery and decision support, has announced that its ViewerPro real-time analysis software can provide computer-readable, real-time automatic news impact feeds for algorithmic trading decisions. The service automatically analyses, filters and determines the impact of news on an algorithmic trading portfolio. Its annotated content is available in database or XML format.

“ViewerPro empowers users to take control of their incoming aggregated news and automatically turn it into actionable information,” explains Bram Stalknecht, CEO, SemLab.

The software allows users to assess which emerging news stories may affect the value of a specific equity or bond and provides an estimate of the magnitude and direction of the effect. The service can connect in real time to major news suppliers, including Bloomberg, Marketwatch, Reuters and Moody’s.
