Complex event processing (CEP) provider StreamBase has struck a partnership with trading technology firm Peresys to facilitate electronic access to Africa.

Peresys is based in Johannesburg, South Africa, and specialises in the delivery of FIX-enabled applications to both buy- and sell-side firms.

Through its partnership with StreamBase, Peresys will offer solutions that allow buy-side firms to monitor the performance of their orders relative to order flow in the market in real time via a custom-built .NET front end.

According to StreamBase, such solutions will become increasingly pertinent in South Africa after improvements to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange that are expected to increase trading volumes and attract high frequency trading strategies to the region.

“These metrics showing the relative performance of the orders in real time put the buy-side dealer in an informed position when evaluating a broker’s service intraday,” says Peresys director Derek Crous.”¨ ”¨

“We are pleased to partner with Peresys and look forward to leveraging Peresys’ broad understanding of the market and relationships with the local financial community to deliver tailored trading solutions powered by StreamBase CEP,” added Richard Tibbetts, chief technology officer, StreamBase.
