Swiss Financial Market Services (SFMS), a merger between SWX Group, SIS Group and Telekurs Group, has rearranged its group executive board.

Thomas Zeeb will join on 1 October as the head of the securities services division and member of the executive board, and Jürg Spillmann has stepped down from the executive board to take up a new role as the vice CEO of Eurex, a derivatives exchange.

Zeeb was previously the executive director of client relations at Clearstream Banking in London and Luxembourg, where his responsibilities included sales, relationship management, client services and development of the business in Europe and the US. He has also held positions at the Bank of New York and Deutsche Bank, prior to working at Clearstream.

Spillmann was formerly the head of the derivatives markets division at the SFMS. Responsibilities in his new role will be focused on integrating the IT platforms of Eurex and the International Securities Exchange (ISE). Deutsche Börse and SWX Swiss Exchange bought the ISE jointly in May 2007.

Spillmann has also been vice CEO on the management board of Eurex since 2001, where he will continue to represent the interests of SFMS.

In addition, group CEO Urs Rüegsegger, has been elected to the board of directors of Eurex with effect from 1 August 2008, and will be responsible for managing the company’s participation in Eurex.
