TORA expands outsourced trading desk with two new hires

Mark Mazor and Joe Zonenshine join the outsourced trading desk at TORA with a combined 30 years of trading experience.

Investment management technology provider TORA has expanded its outsourced trading desk with the addition of two veteran traders.

Mark Mazor and Joe Zonenshine join TORA’s global outsourced trading team with a combined trading experience of more than 30 years, and will provide execution support to a number of hedge funds and asset managers.

Zonenshine joins TORA after 16 years working as a trader at Aristeia Capital and Blackwells Capital. Prior to that, he spent three years as an investment banking analyst with Lehman Brothers. Similarly, Mazor was most recently a global execution trader for Partner Fund Management and Balyasny Asset Management. He began his career at Morgan Stanley in New York.

“Their deep knowledge of various asset classes and strategies has been vital. Having been through multiple market cycles, I am very proud of how the whole team has been able to help our clients quickly react and adapt to the unprecedented conditions of this current market disruption,” said Chris Jenkins, managing director at TORA.

TORA added that its outsourced trading is fully integrated with its cloud-based, front-to-back-office technology, including its flagship order and execution management systems, embedded with pre-trade compliance, and pre- and post-trade transaction cost analysis.

Outsourced trading has grown significantly recently due to increased operational and cost pressures for active fund managers. The coronavirus has accelerated the trend, according to several large custodian banks that offer outsourced trading as a service.
