Electronic trading systems provider Tora Trading Services has connected its TORA Trading Platform to agency broker Instinet’s Asian algorithms and its three crossing networks in the region – JapanCrossing, CBX Japan and KoreaCross.

The news closely follows last week’s announcement that trading technology firm Charles River had connected its Charles River Investment Management System to Instinet’s three Asian crossing networks.

Thanks to the link, traders using the TORA Trading Platform will be able to execute all or part of their orders through JapanCrossing, CBX Japan and KoreaCross. They can also access Instinet’s entire quire of Asian algorithms.

“The TORA Trading Platform is designed to provide the widest variety of execution options and liquidity venues to buy-side firms trading Asia,” said Robert Dykes, CEO of Tora Trading Services, in a statement. “We are delighted to offer our clients access to Instinet’s growing portfolio of ATS venues and custom algorithms, and look forward to broadening and deepening this partnership in the future.”

Christian Chan, head of electronic trading, Asia, at Instinet, added, “As unbundling takes hold, traders in Asian markets are increasingly turning to electronic trading platforms that can provide better execution quality results and ultimately translate into superior returns.”
