Omar Darwish has joined UBS as a sales trader as part of the firm’s MENA global markets execution services team.
The move sees Dubai-based Darwish leaving his previous position at fintech pioneer GTN, where he had been working as an equity sales trader from January 2024 to July 2025.
Prior to this, he also held the same position at Arqaam Capital for more than 3 years and has also served as a director at Beltone Financial.
Additionally, previously in his career, he has served as VP sales trader at Renaissance Capital, and has also held sales trader positions at Credit Suisse and Commercial International Bank (CIB).
The move marks an additional hire for the firm recently, and in June 2024, UBS appointed Carlos Salcedo as head of capital markets financing sales Americas, which saw him taking on the responsibility for the execution of UBS’ commercial strategy in the Americas.
