Vijay Chander has joined the Asia Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (ASIFMA) in Hong Kong as an executive director in fixed income. He will also be involved in tax and compliance matters. He joins from Standard Chartered where he was the global head of credit strategy.
He has also worked at Citi as head of market risk, and as a credit prop trader at Bear Stearns.
Running the fixed income practice for ASIFMA in Asia is Patrick Pang. Pang joined late last year as an executive director, and is now a managing director after former head of fixed income Will Sage left the organisation.
ASIFMA in Hong Kong is run by CEO Mark Austen. The other business heads are managing directors Nick Ronalds who runs equities and David Ngai, who is responsible for foreign exchange.
