Kepler Cheuvreux continues KCx hiring spree with Berenberg electronic sales trader hire

New appointment is set to strengthen and scale the firm’s low touch offering, Kepler Cheuvreux global head of execution services and trading tells The TRADE; hire joins from Berenberg where he spent more than six years in various electronic trading positions. 

Olatayo Balogun has joined Kepler Cheuvreux’s KCx platform as an electronic sales trader, marking the most recent addition to the team following a spate of hires. 

Balogun will be based out of London in his new role, where he is set to support the development of Kepler Cheuvreux’s execution strategy, joining a team which spans financial centres across both Europe and the US. 

Speaking to The TRADE, Chris McConville, global head of execution services and trading at Kepler Cheuvreux, said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming [Balogun] to the team in London. 

“His experience in electronic trading, combined with a strong track record of building trusted client relationships, will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen and scale our low-touch execution offering, where we’ve already seen excellent growth. We’re excited about the impact he’ll have in supporting the new phase of our execution strategy.” 

Balogun joins the firm from Berenberg, where he spent more than six years working across various electronic trading-based roles, most recently as an associate director. 

Prior to this, he served as an electronic sales trader at Mirabaud Group, initially joining the firm in a compliance monitoring role in 2017. 

He also gained early career experience at Admiral Markets Group. 

Balogun’s addition to the platform marks the fifth hire for Kepler Cheuvreux this year, with Karim Boumail joining most recently from ODDO BHF. 

He is set to serve as a high touch sales trader on the KCx team, effective May 2026. 

Similarly, further high touch sales trading hires have also been added to the team, with Andrew Westoby joining in March 2026 based out of London, while Vito Scarola and Sam Dawson were also appointed to similar roles in February 2026.
