Juan-Carlos Rhodes has left his role as head of electronic trading at Bernstein, to depart for pastures new, The TRADE can reveal.

Juan-Carlos Rhodes
Based out of London, Rhodes’ departure marks the end of a 16-year tenure at the firm, where he worked extensively across program and algorithmic trading.
His next role is currently unconfirmed, The TRADE understands.
Prior to his time at Bernstein, Rhodes also served as a senior equity trader at APG Financial for more than six years, where he worked out of the firm’s New York and Amsterdam offices.

Previously, he also served as a program trading sales trader at JP Morgan for almost seven years.
Rhodes departure also aligns with further shakeups for Bernstein’s electronic offering, as Luke Stalder is set to leave his role as an electronic sales trader on the firm’s Paris desk to pursue a career on the buy-side.
Stalder has worked at the firm since July 2021, and initially joined Bernstein based in London, before moving to Paris in April 2024.
Bernstein declined to comment when contacted by The TRADE.
