Yesterday Deutsche Börse began offering an internet-based fee calculator that enables the calculation of the main fees charged by Xetra, the exchange’s trading system, for transactions covering the entire transaction chain (trading, clearing, settlement).

The calculator supplements the fee information that Deutsche Börse released in December 2006 to implement the price transparency requirements set out in the European Code of Conduct for equities clearing and settlement. The online fee calculator goes further by allowing a simulation of the monthly respective fees on the basis of individual trading and settlement volumes, the firm says.

The analyses give Xetra participants an overview of the costs they will incur. This move will also allow Deutsche Börse to lay the foundation for a better comparison of the fees for trading, clearing and settlement on the European market. The online fee calculator will be available permanently at www.deutsche-boerse.com under Trading & Clearing/Xetra/Fees/Online Fee Calculator and will be developed further on an ongoing basis.
