Charles River IMS combines order and execution management capabilities in a single trading blotter. It provides full and configurable execution management system (EMS) capabilities, including: algorithmic trading, market data, execution analytics, integration with pre- and post-trade transaction cost analysis services, program trading and direct market access. It also offers automated order routing.

Charles River supports more than 350 clients in 43
countries, including 130+ clients across 16 Asia-Pacific countries, spanning
institutional asset and mutual funds, private wealth and trusts, hedge funds
and alternative investments, insurance, pension funds, and custody and
administration markets.

Connectivity and functionality

Charles River integrates with 150+ third-party trading platforms. The
broker-neutral Charles River Network includes 550+ FIX network brokers and
6,000 live FIX network connections. Charles River aims to add brokers to the
network, including emerging markets such as Thailand and Indonesia, allowing
firms to take advantage of country-specific strategies/algorithms

Sourcing options

Sourcing options include licensed, managed
off-premises and fully-hosted by Charles River as a Software-as-a-Service
solution.

Pre- and post-trade analytics

An analytics blotter is shipped as part of the
packaged product, offering all key fundamental analytics. Traders and portfolio
managers can track trade performance through the entire life-cycle. The system
also offers integration to third-party providers for pre-trade market impact
and cost analysis and post-trade reporting and analysis.

Future plans

Thousands of annual enhancements across the
solution occur each year and planned major enhancements include further
improved fixed income portfolio management, execution management, performance
measurement and attribution, and risk and position keeping.
