BBH grows Asian sec lending unit with new appointments

Investment bank Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH) has named Robert Lees head of securities lending trading and Richard Meek head of securities lending relationship management for the Asia-Pacific region – both based in BBH’s Hong Kong office.

Lees reports to Jeff O’Neill, global head of securities lending trading, and Meek to Elizabeth Seidel, global head of securities lending relationship management, business development strategy and marketing. Both work closely with Andrew Tucker, a partner at BBH, who is responsible for the Asia -Pacific region and BBH’s markets business, which includes global securities lending.

Lees, who has been with BBH for eight years, is a vice president and senior trader within global securities lending and has held senior trading responsibilities in the firm’s London and Boston offices. Meek, a vice president with BBH for 10 years, is responsible for BBH’s global securities lending relationship management and sales efforts in Asia Pacific. Mr. Meek previously led the European securities lending relationship team in London.

BBH established its Hong Kong operation in 1989. The unit provides clients with a full suite of investor services including custody, fund accounting, securities lending, foreign exchange, cash management, brokerage, ‘infomediary’ and transfer agency/shareholder services.
