BlackRock 22-year alumnus joins Northern Trust to head up asset management

Incoming executive served in various roles at BlackRock including as its co-head of fundamental equities.

Northern Trust has tapped a 22-year BlackRock alumnus to become the new president of its asset management division.

Daniel Gamba joins Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM) as president and will report to chief executive officer Michael O-Grady.

He joins the asset manager after over two decades with BlackRock, most recently as its co-head of fundamental equities. Prior to that he also served as global head of active equity product strategy and head of Americas institutional iShares business and co-head of iShares US.

“Daniel has a unique set of experiences well suited for the continued growth of Northern Trust Asset Management, with a track record of delivering strong results,” said O’Grady in a statement.

“I am confident that under Daniel’s leadership, working in close collaboration with NTAM’s executive team and his partners on Northern Trust’s Management Group, our business will continue to grow and deliver best-in-class investment solutions and services to our clients.”
