BlackRock low touch trading head joins MarketAxess

Bruce Repasy joins MarketAxess in newly created role, global head of product engineering.

The global head of the low touch trading team at BlackRock, Bruce Repasy, has joined MarketAxess’ product management team.

Repasy has been appointed global head of product engineering - a newly created role - and will be tasked with ensuring consistent system design and implementation across the business.

He will report to Kevin McPherson, global head of sales, and Nick Themelis, chief information officer at MarketAxess.

Repasy has more than 30 years experience working in financial services and throughout his time at BlackRock he was responsible for overseeing the execution of flow-oriented trades for managed portfolios.

Richie Prager, head of BlackRock's trading, liquidity and investments platform, said during Repasy’s time with the firm, “we have significantly advanced our trading platform, improved execution efficiency and increased electronic trading, all while continuing to deliver superior performance to clients.”

Repasy will work with MarketAxess’ product engineering group, which was established to “accelerate the development and introduction of the next generation of tools and functionality to meet clients' needs,” McPherson said.

He added: “With electronic trading adoption accelerating worldwide, MarketAxess continues to invest in our products and people, and Repasy's experience and insights will help MarketAxess continue to deliver innovative technology directly to clients.”

In February, former head of global trading at AXA Investment Management, Christopher Roupie, joined MarketAxess as head of Europe and Asia.

He was appointed to drive MarketAxess’ global expansion and secure new business and product development opportunities.
