BNY has appointed Gary Hughes as an equity sales trader, based in Dublin. 
Hughes joins the firm from Comgest, where he spent around a decade, most recently as a trader.
BNY confirmed the appointment when contacted by The TRADE.
He initially joined Comgest in 2016 in a middle office position.

In his new role, Hughes will sit within BNY’s European fixed income and equities trading team, covering both equities and fixed income products.
In an announcement on social media, Hughes said: “I’m really excited to start this next chapter of my career, joining a fantastic team at BNY and getting back to what I enjoy most – working closely with clients and markets.”
Earlier in his career, he also spent three years working at State Street.
The hire comes weeks after BNY’s head of fixed income EMEA, Bianca Gould, took on an expanded remit as global head of equities, as the bank continues to build out its equities offering.
