BNY Mellon names new head of markets and execution services for APAC

Individual has previously worked across Europe, North America and Asia and held senior positions at Standard Chartered Bank and Deutsche Bank.

Nelius De Groot has been named head of markets and execution services for Asia Pacific at BNY Mellon, effective immediately. 

In his new role, De Groot will be based in Singapore and focus primarily on the growth strategy and direction of the market and execution services business across the region.

Speaking in an announcement, Adam Vos, global head of markets and execution services at BNY Mellon, said: “His impressive track record of building and expanding businesses, along with his focus on product and technology innovation and execution, will be instrumental as we continue to deliver market-leading solutions to clients across the region.”

De Groot has three decades of experience in the capital markets and banking sectors, having worked at major global institutions across North America, Europe and APAC. His expertise encompasses trading, business development, client coverage, technology and operations. 

He has previously held senior positions at Standard Chartered Bank, Deutsche Bank, and Mporium.
