Investment management consultancy specialist Investit has hired John Boyce, formerly of Blackrock and Barclays Global Investors, to head up its technology business.

Boyce will focus on developing Investit’s technology consulting, data and benchmarking services, managing the ‘IT Value Service’ – Investit’s flagship benchmarking product. He will simultaneously continue to work with investment management firms as a consultant, advising on IT service delivery.

The new Investit Principal possesses over 25 years’ worth of experience in investment management, having started in the front office as a fund manager specialising in quantitative equity, fixed income and balanced portfolios. Moving onto Barclays Global Investors in 1997 and fulfilling a range of international and local managerial roles responsible for the firm’s IT services, Boyce was appointed Managing Director once the firm was acquired by Blackrock. Most recently he was Chief Technology Officer at Kleinwort Benson, where he has served since September 2011.

Catherine Doherty, Global CEO, commented: “We are delighted to welcome John to our team.  He is enabling our clients to transform the delivery of their IT platforms, making them nimble and more efficient.”
