CLSA Asia-Pacific Markets (CLSA), an Asian brokerage and investment group,

has appointed Changgen Wu, a former managing director and vice chairman of Morgan Stanley Asia Pacific, as chairman of

its China operations and vice chairman of its Asia operations.

CLSA chairman Rob Morrison believes the appointment reflects the growth of the company the past few years across all business areas.

The firm says that, since the publication of its first research report on China in 1987, it has continued to invest heavily into China. Since 2000, CLSA Capital Partners has invested approximately $100 million into Chinese companies focused on long-term growth. CLSA also established China Euro Securities, the first Sino-foreign joint venture permitted under the new regulations introduced by the CSRC.
