Deutsche promotes head of equities to Americas chief

Tom Patrick joined Deutsche Bank in 2012 and previously worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch for 18 years.

Deutsche Bank has appointed its current head of equities and co-head of the corporate and investment bank business in the US as CEO of the Americas region.

Tom Patrick will retain his current roles but take on additional responsibilities overseeing all Americas and US heads of business divisions and infrastructure.

He will report to Group CEO, John Cryan, in his expanded position although he will report to Garth Ritchie, co-head of the corporate and investment bank business, for his prior responsibilities.

Patrick has an extensive career having joined Deutsche Bank in 2012 and previously spent 18 years at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

He replaces Bill Woodley who had been with the investment bank since 1998 and has held a number of senior leadership positions, including COO of Asia.

A memo to employees authored by Cryan said throughout his time at Deutsche, Woodley “exhibited the type of character and leadership we desire for all of our employees.”
