Digital asset technology firm EDX Markets has closed a $76 million Series C funding round led by SBI Holdings.
The funding is expected to boost institutional digital asset infrastructure for the firm, and will allow EDX Markets to expand its trading, clearing and settlement capabilities, as well as grow it product development and global operations.
The move also aligns with increasing demand for digital asset integration across global markets, and will allow EDX Markets’ infrastructure to deliver key resilience, transparency and risk management capabilities into digital assets, as expected in traditional finance.
Tony Acuña-Rohter, chief executive of EDX Markets, said: “SBI brings deep expertise serving global financial institutions and has built one of the world’s leading digital asset and financial services ecosystems.
“Their investment strengthens our ability to deliver the capabilities and market access that financial institutions need to engage with digital assets confidently and at scale.”

Currently, EDX Markets operates both a spot trading venue and central clearinghouse, both of which are specifically designed only for institutional clients and market makers.
Most recently, SBI Holdings also bolstered its digital asset offering, and launched Japan’s first trust bank-backed yen stablecoin, JPYSC, in June 2026.
“As SBI Group continues to expand its digital asset ecosystem through initiatives such as the issuance of JPYSC, a yen-denominated stablecoin, and the domestic handling of US dollar-denominated stablecoins including RLUSD and USDC, we believe trusted market infrastructure will serve as a critical foundation for institutional adoption,” added Yoshitaka Kitao, representative director, chair, president of SBI Holdings.
“We look forward to working closely with EDX to accelerate innovation, expand market access and help drive the broader use of digital assets globally.”
Enhancing institutional access to digital asset markets has been a consistent core focus for EDX Markets, and in September 2025, the firm entered a partnership with prime brokerage Sage Capital Management to open up access to differentiated perpetual futures liquidity.
The offering aims to provide benefits such as credit intermediation, collateral management and net settlement processes, to enhance overall capital efficiency.
