EMEA equity execution head at JP Morgan departs for role at Moelis

Chris Roberts worked at JP Morgan for 11 years in various equity execution roles.

The head of EMEA equity capital markets execution at JP Morgan has left the firm to join independent investment bank Moelis & Co.

Chris Roberts has been appointed managing director providing equity capital markets advice to the bank’s clients across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

He will join Moelis & Co. in June and oversee the ongoing development of its equity capital markets advisory business alongside managing director Alex Hageman.

Roberts worked at JP Morgan for more than 11 years across various senior positions. In his most recent role, he was responsible for the oversight of equity capital market transactions across all industry sectors.

He has also served as head of equity execution for JP Morgan’s technology, media and telecom equity capital markets business.

Roberts started his career within investment banking at Morgan Stanley where he was vice president of the capital markets structuring team.

“We are delighted to have Chris join our team in London and partner with Alex Hageman to continue the successful build-out of our equity capital markets advisory franchise in EMEA,” said Yorick van Slingelandt, Moelis & Company’s co-head of Europe.

“Chris’ experience executing transactions of all sizes for companies around the world will be a tremendous asset to our clients as they prepare both public and private equity offerings.”
