Eris snaps up former NLX sales veteran Helps

Eris Exchange is expanding its London presence with the hire of industry veteran David Helps.

Eris Exchange has hired David Helps, a former salesman for Nasdaq NLX and compliance tech vendor b-next, in its latest push to expand in London.

Helps, who previously headed Nasdaq NLX’s business development, joined the exchange in October.

The hire comes months after the US-based swap futures exchange opened its first London-based office and hired Barclays former head of agency derivatives, Tim Stacks, to lead sales and marketing in Europe.

Helps is an industry veteran having begun his career as a futures and options trader on the former Liffe trading floor. He spent nearly 20 years trading European, US and UK bond and interest rate futures.

In 2008 he joined NYSE Euronext Liffe as head of fixed income business development. He then joined Nasdaq NLX and steered the launch of the exchange in 2013.

He then joined tech firm b-next in in March 2016, but left after a brief stint of just six months.
